Arlene Spiess Obituary

Passed away peacefully on September 19th at Hospice Huronia, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Pansy Grainger. Beloved wife of Ernie Spiess. Cherished mother of Kristopher (Krystal) and Kaylie. Doting Oma to her beloved grand-babies Keirnan and Deiken. Dear sister of Glenn (Nancy) Grainger, and Auntie to Rachel, Samantha and Tyler. Loving friend to many.

Arlene will be missed dearly by everyone that knew her. She will be remembered for her quick wit, and her unbreakable spirit. She loved to travel, shop, spend time with her loved ones, as well as the odd glass of Pinot Grigio. She was a caring Educational Assistant at James Keating Elementary for the last 25 years of her career, influencing the lives of many students.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Huronia- where Arlene and her family received impeccable care in her final weeks. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 15th at the Askennonia Senior Centre, from 2-4pm.

I went to James Keating back in 2008. I was in Kindergarten at the time. Mrs. Spiess was the kindest person I think I have ever met, She was always so full of positive energy. Sending my condolences to the family.
