September 2, 1932 - January 25, 2022

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston.
Beloved husband for over 25 Years of Gwen Thompson of Wasaga Beach and predeceased by his beloved wife of 32 years, Betty Laughlin (nee Pendleton) - 1987. Loving father of Bonnie Dermott (Rob) and Gary Laughlin (Norma). Beloved papa of Meghann Chitty (Brennan), Sean Dermott (Jennifer), Cody Laughlin (Monica) and Robyn Laughlin (Brandon) and a loving great-papa to Pepper Chitty. He was also proud of his extended family that included Gwen's children, Anne Thompson, Bob Thompson (Lisa) and Harry Thompson (Barb) and grandchildren, Adam Thompson (Lindsay), Amy Tisdale (Mike), Garrett Skorieko and Ryan Skorieko and great-grandchildren Marshall and Franklin Thompson, Tyrus, Seth and Carter Tisdale and Kennedy Skoreiko.
Son of the late Walter and Emma Laughlin of Sherbrooke, PEI, dear brother of Blanche Forgeron (Halifax) and he will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews throughout Ontario, Quebec, and his beloved Maritimes. He was predeceased by sisters Florence Leboutillier, Ruby Keefe, Vera and Lillian Laughlin; brothers Russell, Kenneth, John and Major Laughlin.
We also would like to extend a heartfelt thank you Rev Jane Archer for her loving presence and support and to Dr. Mathews and her wonderful team at Stevenson Memorial Hospital for their loving care, and empathetic consultations and diagnosis. And finally, to Grant Drury and his team at Drury Funeral Centre for all they did for us. There truly are angels among us.
In keeping with dad's wishes, a private family service will be held at Drury Funeral Centre, Alliston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Stevenson Memorial Hospital Fund or Matthews House Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
