Bruce Fraser Memoriam

Passed away suddenly on April 21, 2022 after a courageous battle with Cancer at the age of 89.
Loving husband of Thelma (Goodson) for 65 years. Caring father of Susan (Ken), Valerie, Heather (Rob), and Tara (Craig). Fun loving Poppa to Sarah (Nick), Simon, Erin, Katy, Maggie, Sam, Fraser and Matthew. Wonderful Great Poppa to Isaiah.
Born in Ingersoll, Bruce came to start his teaching career at SS #8, a one-room school where he met his wife to be Thelma. He soon moved to work on CFB Borden teaching hundreds of young people with his special brand of humour and firmness. When he retired from teaching after 39 years, he was awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership in the Ontario Public School Teachers Federation. An honor he was very proud of.
He took advantage of his retirement to indulge his passion for the outdoors spending a great deal of his time walking the trails in Algonquin Park from his base camp in Mew Lake.
In his later years, he became known as the friendly helpful man in the tartan tam. He will be deeply missed by all who have had the great luck to have met him.
A celebration of his long and amazing life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 160 King St. S., Alliston on April 30, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Masks are required inside the church.
