Passed away peacefully in his 89th year at Stevenson Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 24, 2023. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Laxson). Loved father of Gord Monks (Shawna) and Kathy Monks, stepfather to Jason Hughes (Shannon) and David Hughes. Loved grandpa of Bruce Monks (Ashley), Otessa Abulhamayel (Ahmed), Olivia Hubbard (Corey), Brad Monks (Jackie), Shannon Desroche (Joel), Greg O'Leary (Rebecca) and "Grandpa Bruce" to Elizabeth and Melcolm Hughes. Great-grandpa of 9 - Alden and Isla Desroche, Jamison and Navy Jane Monks, Maddax and Griffin Hubbard, Charlie, Bronson and Jaxson Monks. Dear brother of Marion Haddock, Joyce Simpson and predeceased by brothers Bob, Doug, Ronnie and sisters Doris Cooke and Norma Richie. Bruce will be remembered by his sister-in-law Joan Monks, brother-in-law Howard Laxson (Jocelyne), his many nieces, nephews and friends.
