Doris GIBSON Obituary
August 15, 1924 - December 23, 2021
Doris Gibson in her 98th year passed away peacefully at Spencer House Care Facility in Orillia. Eldest daughter of William and Carrie Browett. Dear wife of the late Harold Gibson. Doris is predeceased by her son Philip, Brothers Roy and Lloyd and Sister Betty. Doris is lovingly remembered by her sister Reta Fleming and her children: Hugh (Joan), Audrey, Robert (Marianne), Dave (Deborah), Calvin (Carol), Harvey (Sandra), Earl (Kim), daughters-in-law Robin Gibson and Violet Gibson.
Sadly missed by her 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Doris will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and kindness to others. She was a fabulous baker with many ribbons from the Agricultural Society in Dunchurch. She was a member of the Womens Institute, The 4H Club and Director of the Hagerman Library Board. She was a volunteer with The Red Cross and The March of Dimes. Doris loved to quilt and quilting bees were always enjoyable. She was also a water colour artist. Doris supported her husband Harold in his work as District Governor with the Lions' Club.
Interment and Celebration of life will be held in the spring. Doris wished for remembrances to be made in her name to The Heart & Stroke Foundation and Covenant House, Toronto.
