Passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side on Wednesday December 22, 2021 at Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston.
Beloved husband of the late Sybil Cecelia Durand (nee McGuffie). Loved father of Ruth Ridley (Larry) and predeceased by son Duncan Durand. Loving grandfather of Christopher (Lindsay), Jeremy (Elise), Lindsay, Freyah (Tim), Jacob and great-grandfather of Daisy-Margot, Edward, Sally, Makayla, Elizabeth, Audrey and Duncan. Dear brother of Anne Mullen, Jack Durand and predeceased by Antoine "Bunny", Adeline, Joe, Frank, Jim, Chris and Theresa. Gerald will be remembered by Sybil's children the late Lois Pollard, Michael Pollard (Cindy), Kelly Howard (Percy) and their families, his nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be planned for a date when we can all gather safely together again. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart & Stroke Fdn. would be appreciated.

Dear Ruth and family,
Deepest condolences from the family of Uncle Jack (John). As the two youngest of the ten, Dad and Gerry were very close and we've heard many stories of all the adventures (and no small amount of trouble) they had together in their youth! May similar joyful memories carry you through.
