John DUIVENDOORDE

Passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Barrie, on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. John Duivenvoorde in his 96 year, loving husband of the late Margaret Duivenvoorde. Cherished father of Nancy (the late John) Perkins, Theresa (Craig) Matthews, Mary (David) Irving, Ron Duivenvoorde, Brian (Barbara) Duivenvoorde and Mark (Ellen) Duivenvoorde. Very proud grandfather of thirteen amazing grandchildren and six great grandchildren. John will be fondly remembered by his sister Truus (the late Peet) Warmerdam and family in The Netherlands. John and Margaret came to Canada in April of 1952 landing at Pier 21 in Halifax. They settled in Angus/Barrie raising their family while John worked at General Tire. In retirement John and Margaret returned to Pier 21 to reflect on where it all began. A Funeral Mass will be livestreamed through the following link https://www.facebook.com/st.marysbarrie/live on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 2 o'clock. Interment at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery Barrie. Memorial donations to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul would be appreciated by the family.
