April 24, 1949 - February 24, 2022
John passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a long and valiant 10-year battle with cancer at the age of 72. We believe he is now reunited with his loving wife Vicki, his brave father Henry and sister Teresa. He will be greatly missed by his adoring children Chandra, Jennifer and Jordan; his sons-in-law John and Brad; his sisters Sandy and Beverley and his mother Jean, his in-laws Elaine and Andre Cloutier and sisters Chris and Susie. He was a loving Poppa who will be fondly and forever remembered by his grandchildren Haley, Gemma, Joshua and Poppy, as well as many dear friends including Debbi and John in Newfoundland, all of his nieces and nephews, and his little dog Charly. John left his indelible mark on this world not only in all of these people's lives, but also in the many impressive projects he developed over his career that he took much pride in. He was always passionate about his interests, determined and resolute.
We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Dr. Lillian Siu at Princess Margaret for all her caring advocacy and treatment, which allowed our Dad to live many more years than he otherwise would have and know and love his grandchildren. We will always treasure that extra time we were able to have with him. The family would also like to thank Matthews House Hospice for its excellent care of our Dad at the end, and also for all the support of his friends and colleagues there as he dearly loved being a part of building the hospice and helping it achieve its important mission. Donations would be welcomed in John's memory at either of these great charities.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Drury Funeral Centre 519 Victoria St. E. Alliston on John's birthday Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 1 - 4 p.m.
