Larry MCCUTCHEON Obituary

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Dr.Larry McCutcheon on December 28, 2021, in his 73rd year. Larry leaves behind loving memories to be forever cherished by his wife Marilyn (Weeks), children Patrick (Susan) and Sarah and Granddaughters Charlee and Audrey. A graduate of the University of Toronto School of Medicine, Larry began his practice in Midland and cared for his community as a trusted and beloved family Physician for over 43 years. Insatiably curious, Larry investigated, built and played throughout his life, informing, astonishing and delighting family and friends with his ideas, designs and innovations. A lifelong boater on Georgian Bay, Larry explored and taught others about this special place, passing on a love and respect for these waters to his children and grandchildren. Larry refused to be slowed by health challenges, instead he enriched, guided and loved those around him with exceptional wit and empathy. Professionally and personally, he dedicated his life to the care of others. We mourn Larry's passing but smile for the joy he brought in our time together. No funeral or memorial services immediately planned. The family will notify friends and family in the future when a celebration of life will be scheduled. Donations in Larry's memory may be made to any charitable organization helping animals. Arrangements entrusted to the Nicholls Funeral Home.

Dear Marilyn,

Anne and I were deeply saddened to hear of Larry´s passing. We will miss seeing him puttering about with children and grandchildren in and around the bay.

He was so helpful for Mom and Dad on many occasions, and for that we are very grateful.

We will miss him dearly as part of our Pennington Island neighbourhood.

We are thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Anne and Bill Holton

To Marilyn and Family;
I am so saddened to hear of Larry´s passing. It has been a long time since we were living in Midland and starting Family Practice there. But I remember the good times on Georgian Bay, the fun good laughs and the friendship from you both.

Larry was one of the nicest people you could know and his compassion, kindness and gentle spirit were what I remember. And his passion for boats and being on the water - he had so much experience and knowledge! He has lived a life of his own making, a family medical practice with patients who adored him and the love of his family. He has touched so many lives and made such a difference in his community with a true and generous heart. What a legacy and what memories to treasure.
