Lucille ROBILLARD Obituary
The family of Lucille Robillard (nee Larmand, who many of you knew as Lucy, Lu, Lou) are very sad to report her passing on December 20, 2022 at Hillcrest Village, Midland, Ontario.
She joins her husband Gildore Robillard, and her parents Rose and Louis Larmand, her brother Roger (Anita - still living), and her sister Theresa (Jack Dorion), mother and father-in-law Marianne & Herman Robillard, and sister-in-law Yvette Desroches (Venard) who went on ahead. Those of us who are left behind to mourn her are her remaining brother Morris Larmand (Blanche), her sisters-in-law Rita-Jean Robitaille (Robert), Georgette Mailloux (Bernard), and brother in law Gerard Robillard (Pauline), as well as many nieces and nephews. She was never able to have her own children but she was cherished as a second mom by many of these, who will miss her dearly.
She loved to knit and was brilliant at it, pouring all her efforts into creating baby outfits and blankets that became family heirlooms to all of us.
Anyone who knew her knew her to be an organized, efficient, determined, quiet, witty woman who preferred to be in the background, and who did nothing in low gear. She loved to help, and could be found most days pouring coffee, clearing tables, washing dishes at Captain Ken's diner, where her niece Esther Maracle worked. They were really good to her throughout her early days of decline with dementia, and her family want to express special gratitude to them for this kindness.
Her family would also like to thank Mary Paillé, Mona Desroches, Michelle Beausoleil, Danielle Hanson, Susanne Robitaille, Cathy Hough, and Lynda Desrochers for providing overnight care while she awaited placement, as well as Hillcrest Village Long Term Care Home, Midland for their exemplary and compassionate care during her ten month stay with them. We are very grateful for the contributions you made to ease this difficult time for her.
At her request, there will be no funeral, so it seems fitting to celebrate her life at Captain Ken's on Main Street in Penetanguishene on what would have been her 80th birthday - January 13, 2023 from 2-5. Come share your stories. Burial will occur in the spring at St Ann's Cemetery in Penetanguishene.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, with our thanks, to Hillcrest Village, Harbour Unit - for the enrichment of those who reside there.
Arrangements entrusted to the Penetanguishene Funeral Home.
