Michael PARSONS Obituary

Passed away at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Friday February 4th, 2022, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the Patricia Anderson. Dear brother of Patricia Durrant (Gerry). Loving uncle of niece Alex (David) and nephew Nick. He showed his love by working hard. As a long-distance driver, he made deliveries throughout UK and sometimes Europe. He drove double decker buses for London Transport and June, his first wife, was his "clippie". As a retiree, he emigrated to Canada and reunited with a sweetheart from younger days in UK. He was proud to become a Canadian citizen. Also proud of his Cockney accent, he often said "No one understands me!" Fate brought him and Pat together. They met while he was "putting out his dust bins". For the next nine years, they vacationed in the Caribbean, but, home was his favourite place. He enjoyed building a collection of die cast buses and tractors. Several times he attended trade shows with Stephen and Barry from the Ottawa area. His extended family in Orillia will miss him. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you the doctors at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital as well as Mandy, Dana and Heather. Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Salvation Army or the OSPCA Orillia would be appreciated by the family and may be made through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street East Orillia (705) 327 0221.

I unexpectedly found Michael's obituary today with much sadness.
A fellow transport enthusiast, and model maker, we spoke on the phone and exchanged emails.
Michael was the only one I knew that made miniature bus dioramas similar to myself in North America.
He shared some of his transport work stories with me.
Sadly I lost touch a few years ago and various personal circumstances prevented me from meeting Michael in person. I was hoping to finally meet him next week at the GBTS Exhibition in Brampton, ON, but sadly this is not meant to be.
Nevertheless I will think of him while I am behind my dioramas with RF buses at this event.
My sincere condolences to his wife and family.
Rest in peace Michael.

I have known you for three quarters of a century ...long time brother.. I am still so so sad to see you go so soon. At least, being in Canada, has been one of the happiest times of your life.
Go, sort our those buses in the sky and show them how it's done...
God Bless from the whole family in MK, England... Love you ... Pat, Gerry, Nick, Alex, David, Lucy and the grandchildren, Megan, Lily and Jack xxx
