Stewart DUNCAN Obituary

October 6, 1938 - September 15, 2022

We are heartbroken to announce that Stewart Duncan passed away very suddenly on Thursday, September 15th. Beloved husband to Susan for 57 years, loving father to Eleanor and Craig (Kelly), and biggest fan and Grampa to Sam, Rebecca, Josh, Brody, and Azalea.
Born in Kilmarnock, Scotland, Stewart came to Canada in 1957. He worked for several companies in Toronto before coming to Lufkin (later Cooper Tools) in Barrie where he was VP of Finance.
Stewart was an avid golfer and was a member at the Barrie Country Club for 50 years. He had a strict fitness regimen and served on the board at the Barrie YMCA. He was a huge supporter of the Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays and found great joy in cheering on his grand children in their chosen pursuits. To many, he will be remembered as waving hello from behind his book on the porch and looking over his garden and the neighbourhood he adored.
He modelled integrity, gratitude, friendship, and determination - a gentleman. His loving presence and wise counsel will be greatly missed. A man well-loved and a life well-lived.
As per Stewart's request, no funeral service will be held.

Dear Susan and Family
My deepest condolences to you and your family.
I had the honour of working with Stu for a few years at Copper Tool. He was a man of integrity and fairness and I always enjoyed our chats. A very nice man.
Sincerely,
Peter Gordon
