Tom Shanton Obituary
Peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the age of 93. Beloved husband and soul mate of Phyllis for over 70 years. Loving and devoted father of Jane and Barb Stanton. Predeceased by sons Keith and Gregory Stanton. Survived by brother Jim Stanton (Marylou). Predeceased by brothers and sisters Ellen Martin, Beulah Martin and Robert 'Bobby' Stanton. Proud and loving grandpa of eight and great-grandpa of 11. Sadly missed and always remembered by many nieces, nephews, great friends, neighbours, guests and staff of Stanton House. A graveside service was held at St. Luke's Hamlet Cemetery in Hamlet on Wednesday, August 4 2021. Arrangements entrusted to Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595. If desired, donations in Tom's memory may be made to The Church of the Good Samaritan in Port Stanton (Parish of Washago) and are greatly appreciated.

Jane, Barbara and family:
I was saddened to hear of Tom's passing. I regret missing the opportunity to say my farewells and to see and speak to you both again - it has been a long time. Unfortunately I did not hear of his death or of today's service until in time to allow me to attend.
I will remember your dad as a gentle and kind man and as I became an adult appreciated how knowledgeable he was as well.
