Bruce Smith Obituary

On Thursday August 17, 2023, Bruce Smith, loving husband and father of two girls, passed away. He had lost the battle with cancer so with his music playing and loving family by his side he began his next journey.

Bruce was born April 22 1951 to Everett and Eugenia(Hoyt) Smith in Hoyt, NB. In 1973 he married his wife Sharon (Ogden) Smith and had two daughters, Terry (Joe) Burgart and Tammy (Peter) Dionne. In 1978 he decided that he wanted to see the west coast of Canada, so the family moved to Squamish BC and lived there ever since.

When he was old enough, he climbed into a cab of a truck and drove for a living. Bruce drove trucks all over North America but loved his logging truck days the best. He was always willing to help a friend or follow driver when needed. His passions in life were golf, walking his fur companion Titan, playing pool, hunting, or just gossiping with friends. He always had a kind word, smile or helping hand for anyone who asked.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father Everett and Mother Eugenia, his is survived by his wife, Sharon, two daughters, 4 granddaughters and two great grandchildren his brothers Bayard, Marty and his sisters Ila and Debbie, plus several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Drs and Nurses from Palliative Care and hospice care for all their support through this battle.

There will be no funeral services as per his request. Donations can be made to Hospice Care or the Squamish SPCA

So sorry for your loss. Will miss his little chit chats as he walked Titan around the park.
