Louis Geannopoulos Obituary

Louis, 32, was caught in an avalanche while skiing at Whistler Blackcomb.

An Eagle Scout and graduate of UBC, Louis lived a big life full of joy as a Horticultural Specialist in the Vancouver, B.C. area and grew up in Portland, OR. Louis made people live more fully, love more fiercely, and think more deeply than they ever would have without him.

He is survived by his parents, George and Geni Geannopoulos; two loving sisters, Lauren and Anna (spouse, Alejandro); and many extended family and friends.

In his years with scouts Louis always stood out as a fun-loving young man with a totally positive attitude. He was always ready for an adventure and it was impossible not to want to join him in it. Losing him is truly a tragedy. My sincere condolences to family and his many friends.

Geni, George, and girls,

We were devastated to hear about Louis. I can still remember meeting Louis as a wiry, fun, and energetic second grader as coach and player on the soccer field. He always went all out in the greatest way.

Please know that our family is keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I can't fully grasp the depth of your grief to lose your son so young. Louis was a friend and classmate of our youngest son, Cameron. I didn't know Louis well, but I remember him for his vivid personality; I remember an enthusiastic, warm and joyful boy. What a terrible loss.

I think about the good times we had in scouting often, a good crew, Louis was a great kid that I had the privilege to see growing into the young man that he became. My deepest sympathy to his family and all his friends.
