Adam GERRARD Obituary

Adam Mark Gerrard of St. Albert, AB passed away peacefully in his sleep March 22, 2016 at the age of 34. Adam leaves behind his wife, Carrie (McGinn); and son, Brody. He is survived by his parents, Mitchell and Maria; his brothers: Steven and Corey; and sister in law, Sarah Sibley; nephew, Liam; his paternal grandparents, Bob and Donna Gerrard of Luseland, SK; as well his in-laws, Judy, Bob and Jill McGinn; and a large and loving extended family. Adam was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Wendelin and Zita Kohlman of Macklin, SK.
Even at a very early age Adam liked to see how things worked. He took apart numerous toys and remote control vehicles that were never the same. Growing up in Mornville he was active in sports: swimming, soccer, volleyball, curling and Boy Scouts. He loved the summers spent at Bob and Donna's cabin at Turtle Lake spending all day in the water and playing with cousins and then roasting marshmallows over the fire.
He loved driving the quads at his uncles'. He even took Brody for a spin around the yard. He was a talented photographer and enjoyed dogs, remote control cars and helicopters.
Adam loved to travel with Carrie and especially enjoyed family trips to Arizona. Some of their very best times were spent laughing together into the early hours. Adam enjoyed being a husband and was a naturally gifted father to Brody. Two Peas in a Pod!
His biggest accomplishment in this life was his son Brody that he loved with all his heart. He was dedicated to Brody and his best friend, his loving wife Carrie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2016 at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta.

Carrie, my heart hurts for you and Brody . We are now united by that sorrowful title of "widow". I wish I could tell you it will get better but there is no right way to grieve. It will come in waves. Please keep his memory alive and always speak his name, and in time remembering him happy will be easier than grieving the loss of him. I send you a giant hug and will pray for you both. XoX
