Albert McBride Obituary

July 25, 1931 - March 8, 2017

It is with great sadness that the McBride family announces the passing of their patriarch Albert Hugh.

Albert was born in New Westminster, BC on July 25, 1931. After school he enlisted in the Canadian Army and spent two years in Korea serving our country. After the war he entered the RCAF as a firefighter. Upon his retirement he worked as a fire inspector with the Alberta government, then for Indian Affairs, where he gained respect from all who met him.

He leaves behind a brother and three sisters as well as his loving wife of 63 years, Isabelle. His children Thomas (Cheryl) and Julia (John), as well five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews are also left to mourn. He was predeceased by his older brother. Canada lost another of "the greatest generation" and will be sadly missed by all who met him.

A Private Memorial and Color Parade will take place at a later date with burial at The Field of Honor accompanied by his favorite, bagpipes. Rest in peace, you will not be forgotten.
