Rita St. Pierre passed away peacefully, December 26, 2013 at 102 years of age.
She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters: Laurel (Rob) Lutes and Marianne (Gerhard) Gieselbrecht; 6 grandchildren: Danielle (Colin) Bremault, Kathrin (Olivier) Brisseau, Marc Lutes, Philipp (Julia) Gieselbrecht, Christopher (Amanda) Lutes, Michael Lutes; 4 great-grandchildren: Emily Bremault, Olivia Lutes, Elmar Brisseau and Silas Gieselbrecht.
Rita was predeceased by her husband Leo; parents, Felix and Clarisse St. Amand; sister Madeleine Hudon; and brothers Edmond and Norman St. Amand.
Rita was a woman of simplicity, grace and gratitude. She was truly devoted to her family, her faith community and the Lord. A true gift to us all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Albert Catholic Parish, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert.
The family would like to thank Youville Home Grey Nuns and nursing staff on Unit #2 for their kindness and care.
Memorial donations in Rita's name may be made to the Youville Home "Chapel Fund", 9 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert, Alberta, T8N 9Z9.

Dear Laurel, Marianne and your families.
I recently learnt of your mother's death from your cousin Jeanine to whom I am indebted as I would not otherwise have had the opportuntiy to express my sincerest sympathies. Your mother was a most remarkable woman whom my brother and I had the privilege of meeting. As you may or may not remember, your mother took care of my brother and I at Collège St. Joseph in Zenon Park. She extended untold kindness to two urchins who were taken in as part of the extended St. Amand family while boarders at the Collège for which we remember with great fondness. May she rest in well deserved Peace.

Je viens de voir à l'ordinateur que ta mère est décédée au lendemain de Noël. Mes plus sincères condoléances à toi, ton époux tes enfants et ta soeur et sa famille. Tu as été très bonne pour elle et je suis certaines qu'elle est partie en paix. Que le Seigneur remplisse le vide que tu sentiras.
Je voudrais avertir Sr. Claire Dargis, sa grande amie, mais je viens de recevoir la nouvelle qu'elle est tombée et a peut-être eu une attaque d'apoplexie.
C'est avec grand regret que je ne pourrais pas être présente aux funérailles à moins que les choses changent.
