Shelley Balla Obituary

December 18, 1973 – March 20, 2017

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shelley Anne Balla (Shel) on March 20, 2017 at the Sturgeon Hospital in St. Albert. Shelley will be dearly missed by all who knew her and experienced her incredible wit, energy and love of life.
Shelley was predeceased by her mother, Louise Balla, and brother Kevin Balla. She is survived by her father, William Balla, brother Curtis (Lindsay) and niece Willow.

Life kept Shelley busy and fulfilled. She built a highly successful career as Senior Sales Manager, Western Canada for YP Next Home. She loved sports, travel and time spent with family and friends – with or without a glass of wine! Shelley had an amazing memory and vibrancy; she was strong willed and loved to laugh.

A Funeral Service will be held in Calgary on April 1, 2017 at 2 pm at McInnis & Holloway (5388 Memorial Drive E). Internment to follow at Mountainview Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Sturgeon Hospital.

Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at: www.mhfh.com

So sad to see you leave us far too soon, you were a wonderful friend, the best colleague & teacher, anyone could ever ask for.I so much admired your tenacity & strength, especially over the last few years. We had experienced a lot of similarities, you were always there, with a warm ear & sage advice. Your smiling face, quick witted sense of humor, your often hilarious quirky talent for remembering every odd but true fact, and of course your signature "High Ponytail" You will be dearly missed, my friend. The world lost a Great One. My sincere condolences & sympathies to your family. Warmest Regards,

Shelley was such a special part of my childhood. Through elementary school and playing around the neighborhood to youth group fun during junior high. We hadn't seen each other in so many years but kept up with each other via Facebook and I could always count on her to post some funny picture of us as kids to bring back fond memories! She will be missed. My heart goes out to Willy and Curtis.

Shelley was my friend from elementary school and we reconnected two years ago. She opened her home and her heart out to me in Edmonton while I visited family in the Hospital. Her warmth and friendship will be missed dearly. My thoughts and prayers to her family.

I was shocked and saddened by Shelley's sudden and untimely passing. Shelley and I worked together when she was in "Condo Guide Sales". She was awesome to work with, always smiling and very helpful. Shelley will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
