Ubaldo Aloisio passed away peacefully after a joyful and full life on August 22, 2014. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Elisa.
He is survived by his loving brother Attilio Aloisio (Orietta Baudo) of Genova, Italy, his devoted daughters, Edie West (Wayne) and Eliana Aloisio (Darryl Rose), his 6 beautiful grandchildren, Michael (Amanda), Marco (Nicole), Marisa, Stefan (Devon), Matteo (Chelsea) and Juliana, 5 precious great grandchildren, and many wonderful friends, all of whom gave him great joy.
Ubaldo was born in Rocca Grimalda, Piemonte, Italy in 1915. He immigrated in 1950 to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he began his long term career with Canadian National Railway as a structural engineer. He was transferred to Edmonton, Alberta, in 1961. The family settled in St. Albert, where he and Elisa lived until Ubaldo's 90th birthday (44 years).
The family wish to extend their gratitude for the kindness and care offered by all the staff of Shepherd's Care, Kensington Village on 135 Ave in Edmonton.
A celebration of his life will be held at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail on Monday, September 1st, 2014 at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers please donate to his favorite charity, the Red Cross Society.

I just heard at our weekly Italian get together the very sad news about the passing of your Dad. Please accept my sincere condolences. Eliana, just wanted to send a quick note to express my deepest condolences on the loss of your Dad. I know this is a difficult time for you and your family, but he's now at peace in a good place. Dad are always special to their "little girls".

... La morte che è uno spinoso argomento, risulta essere qualcosa di indecifrabile e difficilmente accettabile. È una situazione complessa da affrontare e, spesso, ci si sente inadeguati di fronte alla persona che più viene toccata da questa tragedia ... in questo caso, tu ed Edie e le vostre famiglie lo risentiranno profodamente e voglio dirvi che vi sarò vicine in pensiero.
Perdere una persona cara comporta sicuramente il dolore più grave e difficile da superare. In una prima fase, dicono gli psicologi, bisogna concedere al dolore di venire fuori per essere elaborato. Ma appena possibile, bisogna cercare di uscire dalla sofferenza e recuperare la vita quotidiana, dando un senso e integrando l'evento.
Ti dico, carissima amica, che sei fortunatissima d'aver avuto accanto a te tuo padre ... un novantanovenne!!! ... una cosa che poche persone riescono a godersi. Sarà veramente difficile per te ma ti prego di appoggiarti su tutto quello che avete condiviso e trascorso insieme - i ricordi, dolci ed amari quelli tristi e scontenti - apri il tuo LIBRO DELLA VITA e leggiti tante pagine quanto possibile. In facendo ciò, sarai capace a rivivere momenti passati e saranno proprio questi ricordi che ti daranno la forza d'affrontare sia oggi che domani.

Abbiamo Saputo che Ubaldo e' mancato e ci dispiace tantissimo. L'ultima volta che ci siamo sentiti nel period di Pasqua, era ancora molto brillante e di spirito allegro. Mi auguro che I suoi ultimi momenti siano stati sereni, e che abbia sofferto molto.
