Achille ARMENTI Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Peacefully surrounded with his family at his side on May 13, 2022, at the age of 84 at Port Colborne General Hospital. He will be forever missed by his devoted wife of 59 years, Olga (nee D'Uva), daughters Rosanna (Roger), Diana (Shawn) and loving grandson, Matthew Archambault. He is survived by his sister, Suora Enza Armenti (Italy), Nicolina Armenti, Niagara Falls, brother-in-law to Mario, (Joanne) D'Uva, Alfie (Angie) D'Uva of Port Colborne, Emilio (Gianna) D'Uva, (Italy) and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Rosina and Vincenzo Armenti, his sister Maria (Domenico) Vacca, nephews Antonio Vacca, Lonny D'Uva and daughters, Marcella, and Claudia Armenti. Achille was born in Castelpetroso, Italy on May 20, 1937, and married Olga in 1963. He worked as a Coal Miner in Belgium. In 1963, he moved his family to Canada, and worked at INCO Metals Company. He also liked construction work and even built his family home. He was on the Port Colborne Bocci team and a member of the Italian Canadian Cultural Club, where he made lifelong friendships, had dinners, played cards and shuffleboard. He also had many hobbies including gardening, making wine, sausage, tomato sauce and fixing things in the garage. He was a very social person; he loved people, and people loved him. Family was everything to him, he had them over for dinner every Sunday. Mr. Armenti's family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 6 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday May 18, 2022, at St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 379 Fares Street, Port Colborne at 10:30 a.m. with Father Janusz Roginski as celebrant. Rite of Committal at Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Therese of Lisieux Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

To the family, we are saddened for you today after learning that your husband, father, grandfather and brother has passed. Mr. Armenti was such a lover of life. Always had a smile on his face. Loved his family fiercely. We'll miss our chats in the summer with him out at the lake. Wishing all of you peace, healing and comfort in the days ahead.
