Barbara Ruth "Barb" KRAYEWSKI

Passed away suddenly at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Saturday February 26, 2022 at the age of 80. Devoted and loving wife of 60 years, Barb is survived by her husband Ed, and her 4 daughters; Sandi (Ian) Cechet, Karen (Mark) Sutherland, Terri Lynn Krayewski, Nancy (Rick) Mills and 6 grandchildren; Addison (Katherine) and Garrett Sutherland, Wyatt and Hailey Ernst and Emmett and Syrah Mills. She was greatly anticipating the arrival of her first great-grandchild of Addison and Katherine. Survived by her sister Heather Forrester and predeceased by her sister Kay Herd and her mother and father Audrey (nee Murray) and Wilfred Harper. Barb was a volunteer with the Girl Guides of Canada for over 50 years. Her position as trainer brought her great joy and she valued the impact she made on the many girls she mentored. She was also a devoted member of the Our Lady of the Scapular Church and served on the Collection Team, a Eucharistic Minister and also delivering the Eucharist to the homebound or in hospital, and also worked with the Out of the Cold Program. Barb was a person with many interests and took great pleasure in golf with the Core Group friends, trivia, bird-watching, hiking, travel, and was an Olympic Torch Bearer, but she was most happy spending time with her family and reveled in every opportunity for a game or gathering with them. Cremation has taken place. Respecting the restrictions of COVID-19 (see thebao.ca), friends and family are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Friday, March 11, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home at 3 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Scapular Church, with the Rite of Committal to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. In memory of Barb, memorial contributions may be made to Girl Guides of Canada, and would be appreciated by her family.
