1937-2022
It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the death of Barbara Ann Rauscher of Port Colborne who passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Her presence will be deeply missed in the lives of her daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn and Steven Druker, Joan Rauscher and Jean-Marc Volpe, Susan and Noah Clarke; and her granddaughters Maggie and Sophie Clarke. She will also be dearly missed by her sister, Sally (Botzang); many nieces and nephews from both sides of the family; and friends. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Kurt; her parents, William and Margaret Darlington; sisters, Dorothy (Kusch), Joyce (Owen) and Elsie (VanWynsberghe); and brothers, Jack and Bill Darlington. Barbara was an active member of the United Church Women at South Cayuga Trinity United. She was a wise and caring elementary school teacher. A voracious reader, she always had at least one book nearby. She was a skilled crossword puzzler and impressive armchair Jeopardy contestant. After retiring, she and Kurt moved to Port Colborne, Ontario where she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her beautiful granddaughters. She was always ready for a visit with a good chat, a cup of tea and, if you were lucky, one of her scrumptious lemon squares. Visitations will be held at Davidson Funeral Home, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Friday, June 3rd from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Davidson Chapel on Saturday, June 4th at 10 a.m., followed by a light lunch at a location to be announced in Port Colborne.
