It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved and amazing soul. Bryan passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 surrounded by family and with some of his favourite music playing in the background at Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 62. He was born on February 14, 1959 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elliot Lake, Ontario to Calvin (2011) and Annette (2020) Niemi. Remembered by the only love of his life, Laura Burns-Niemi and his children Brad Niemi (Caity) and Danielle Hayward (Shawn). Cherished grandfather to Jami and Daniel VanLuven, "Pa-niemi" to Nash Niemi, and great-grandfather to Carter Johnston. Loving brother to the late Gerry Niemi (1964), Allan Niemi (Rose), Karen Maxson, and the late Leslie Anne Niemi (1964) and dearly missed by tante Rita and Pat and many cousins. He was loved and will be missed by his feline companion, Spaz. Bryan spent most of his life in Niagara Falls, attending St. Mary's, Saint-Antoine and Niagara Falls Collegiate. He worked for Niagara Transit before finding his perfect job at Salit Steel. He loved his job and delivered steel for 36 years, being a part of some amazing projects. He grew to know every road in Southern Ontario and loved being able to get into his truck for 50-60 hours a week, traveling, enjoying the scenery and getting paid to do it. He shared many stories over the years about the many buildings, places and projects he was able to experience. Bryan was a long-time member of the United Steelworkers (Local 14) branch and took so much pride in his career, membership and by being a hardworking man. Bryan was a simple man and was brutally honest. He had a great sense of humor and will be remembered as a great cook and for the yummy meals he prepared. He loved many many things, but some of his favourites included camping and being outdoors in general. He loved nature and fishing; his favourite time to be outside would be in the fall with the beautiful orange, yellow and red leaves. Music was a large portion of his life, he would spend hours listening to Tragically Hip, Neil Young and Frank Zappa. Bryan was a loving man, partner, dad, papa, "Pa-niemi", brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew him.
