Carl KOSHE

KOSHE, Carl (Drago) (1923) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carl Koshe (old man Carl) on February 21, 2019. Carl was 95 years old and 7 1/2 months. Carl experienced the sadness of out-living family members, friends, neighbours, acquaintances, customers and tenants. Carl was father to Carl Koshe Jr., Blanche Koshe-Gregory (Cameron) and Darcy Koshe, and cherished grandfather of Carston, Daniella, Kayla Koshe-House (Jordan), Braiden and Matthew and great-grandfather of Jayden House. Carl was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Mary, in 2014. Carl was also predeceased by his siblings, three brothers and four sisters in Croatia. Carl has many nieces and nephews and family in Europe that will miss him dearly. Carl came to Canada in 1951 and married in 1954. He was very proud of his Croatian heritage and was fortunate to have visited back home many times. He is best known in the St. Catharines community as building the first commercial/ industrial outdoor strip mall with individual rental unit parking, located on Secord Drive. He was the founder/owner of Cross Canada Auto Body Supply, a supplier of goods and services for the bodyshop trade in the Niagara Peninsula (1962-2007). Carl had a ""personality"" and ""smile"" and ""baby blue eyes"" that would light up a room. He lived a long and full life, but a big loss for all who knew him well. A private funeral service and interment have already taken place. Carl is resting at the Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
