Donald "Cippy" CIPPARONE

1932 - 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Joseph Cipparone at the age of 89 on Thursday December 16, 2021. His five children were at his side when he passed. Don was the loving husband of Margo for 52 years, until her passing in 2006. He will be forever missed by his children Janie (Gary), Mark (Rhoda), Paul, Peter (Mary) and Michael (Candice). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Logan, TJ, Oliver, Madison, Leah, Camisha, Jesse, and Allie. His memory and stories will be passed on to his great-grandchildren Amir, Mekhi, Max, Emmitt, and Jack. Don was born on September 7, 1932, to Giuseppe Cipparone and Mary Cupolo. He was predeceased by his brother Fred in 1990. Known to all as 'Cippy', he started Cipparone Construction Ltd. that he operated for many years. In 1963 he built and opened 'Cippys Place' on Stanley Avenue. Well known to many in Niagara and beyond, Cippy's Place continues to serve the best breakfast in town. Inside Cippy's, the walls are clad with photos and memorabilia depicting his love of sports, especially the CFL, and his beloved Saskatchewan Rough Riders, everything hockey, Frank Sinatra, and his family and friends. In his early life, Don was an avid and accomplished hockey player with the Niagara Falls Cataracts. He shared his love of the game with his sons and was a dedicated coach with minor hockey in Niagara Falls for many years. A private family service will be held, with a celebration of Cippy's life to take place in the new year. In memory of Don, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer Society Niagara.
