LAFFERTY, Earl James Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the presence of his family at Hospice Niagara. Predeceased by his wife Catherine (1990). Cherished father of Desmond (Laurie), Shawn (James) Hollinshead and Stacey (Joe) Vendittelli. Dear grandfather of Dylan, Jamie-Lynn (Curtis), Catherine (Brandon) Gabriel and Samuel. Great-grandfather of Conner, Alyssa, Aiden and Greyson. Survived by his siblings Gwen, Doreen (Jim), Joanne (Ken) and Michael (Susan). Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Delphine and Earl and his siblings Terry and Karen. Earl was a retiree of Niagara Parks Commission after serving 33 years and he was the owner of Earl and Son Body Shop. Earl was a long-time member of Civil Air Rescue Emergency Services and Civil Air Search and Rescue Association Niagara. In honouring Earl's wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Earl's life will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #138 - Merritton, 2 Chestnut Street, St. Catharines, on Saturday, May 18th from 1-4 p.m. The family would like to thank nurses Tina, Julie and Stacey LaFontaine and the entire staff at Hospice for their care and compassion given to Earl during his stay with them. Thank you as well to Dr. Child for going above and beyond to help dad. Memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated.
