ELDO MUCCIANTE Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eldo Mucciante on January 3, 2022 at the age of 88. He is reunited with his beloved wife Barbara (1993) whom he adored. Devoted father to Steven, Glenn (Louise), Annette (Lino) Celestini, Elda (Joe) Picton and Lisa (Brian). Beloved Grandpa to 10 grandchildren, Matthew, Tara, Jessica, Robbie, Briar, Sierra, Christina, Wesley, Emma and Christopher, and 5 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Agostino and Anna. Brother to Nick (Nancy), Divino (Anna) and the late John. Eldo will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as the countless friends and neighbours that he shared many good times with. Eldo was born in S. Stefano de Sessiano, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1951 where he started a long career with Interlake Steel Products as a laborer, working his way up to Plant Manager. Eldo was happiest tending to his vegetable garden, making beef jerky for his grandchildren, and working in his custom workshop ("the Barn") building outdoor furniture and other wonderful treasures. All of this he gladly shared with his family and friends, constantly spreading his light and love. He will be dearly missed. A special thank you to the staff in Montebello home at Henley House for your care and compassion. Relatives and friends will be received by appointment only on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM. You must call 905-227-0161 to make your appointment. All COVID protocols remain in place. Due to COVID restrictions, a private family service will be held. If desired, donations in Eldo's memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, or to a charity of your choice. I worked daily, closely with Eldo for over 25 years.
He was an honest, conscientious, skilled man and manager, a fine person. He loved his wife, his children, his siblings, his job.
I still think of Eldo several times a month. He drove a sea-blue pick-up truck and whenever I see one these days I still immediately remember Eldo.
My sincere condolences to his family at this time of loss.

Maureen and I wish to offer our condolences to Eldo's wonderful family. I worked with your Dad at Interlake Steel. We have many memories of playing cards with your Mom and Dad when you lived on Geneva Street before you all moved to Howard. We had a lot of laughs when we were in the bowling league and all the dinner and dances we went to. I am sure you will have some wonderful memories that you will always carry in your hearts.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my friend Eldo Mucciante. He and I worked together closely at Interlake Steel, from the late 1960's though until 1991. My sincere condolences to all of his family. My father founded Interlake Steel and regarded Eldo as a trusted and able person and I know that to be true too. We made many important decisions together. His advice was always helpful and reliable to me. May his soul be at peace now.

Dear Elda and Family -
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. It´s been a long time since I have seen him but I have such fond memories of when I was younger and would come over to the house. He was so friendly and welcoming and always put a smile on my face.
Rest peacefully Mr. Mucciante.
Love Jo-Ann

so many great times spent with Eldo and his lovely family. He was sweet, kind and generous especially when it came to sharing all the great stuff he made (pesto, sun dried tomatoes, jerky and of course homemade wine). You are resting now, along with beautiful Barb and so many other family members. Lots of love Rick, Karen and family.
