Elizabeth WILLIAMS Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Elizabeth Williams of Beamsville, Ontario on September 3, 2022, at the age of 89. Elizabeth was the loving wife of Jim Williams and is survived by her brother John (Bruncha) Marton and her sister Brigitta Szobolics. Elizabeth was born in Binbrook and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, after her parents immigrated to Canada from Hungary. She grew up speaking and writing Hungarian before English with penmanship that could not be matched. She was an avid reader as a young child and if she was not home with her family they could always find her reading at the nearby library. She attended nursing school and shortly after she met the love of her life. Elizabeth was married to Jim for over 60 years and had a wonderful family of three sons and one daughter. She was an excellent cook, loved gardening, swimming, music, dancing and live theater. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. She was not only a loving wife, mother and grandmother but she also became an entrepreneur with Jim, owning and operating the KOA Campground in Niagara Falls for 29 years. They also operated the Twinkle Tree Christmas Farm with their family at their home in Beamsville, Ontario. Elizabeth was a member of the Trinity United Church in Beamsville, Ontario for many years and liked to keep herself active with all the social functions happening at the church and the community. Elizabeth and Jim enjoyed many years of traveling the world together and always had adventures to tell when they returned home. Many friends were always made along the way. Gail once asked her, "Where was your favorite place you have visited? Mom said, "Wherever I was at the time". They were a generous couple and always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be deeply missed by her four children: Craig (Paula) Williams, Martin (Sandra) Williams, Don Williams, and Gail (Bryan) Groff; brother John (Bruncha) Marton; sister Brigitta Szobolics; her nieces and nephews, friends and grandchildren. Grandma will be missed and cherished by Jordy Groff (Darren), Olivia Groff (Ryan), Eric Williams, and Leanne Williams (Brad). The Williams family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the Orchards Retirement Residence in Vineland and to the staff of the Meadows of Dorchester Nursing Home in Niagara Falls for their care and compassion. Our family is extremely grateful. A very special thank you to Dr. S. Keen, her Geriatric Specialist from St. Joseph's Healthcare in Hamilton and her longtime family doctor, Dr. Reed. Elizabeth is having a private family memorial at the Stonehouse-Whitcomb Funeral Home in Grimsby, Ontario. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.

I am sending heartfelt condolences from the Sachdeva family. Beth and Jim (together with Brigitta and George) were good friends of my parents for many years. They enjoyed many fun and happy times together, especially the infamous NYE parties hosted at the Williams´ home and various Lions Club events. May you find comfort and solace in this sad time of loss and in your memories of a wonderful woman who lived life well.
