Erik Kinghan Obituary

Born November 1, 1963 and died on August 2, 2022. Dear son of Leota and the late Victor; fiancé, and loving partner of Andrea Bath; devoted and proud father of Cameron and Kassandra; brother of Mark and his wife Beth; uncle to Nathaniel and Patrick.
Erik always loved northern Ontario. He and Andrea moved to Manitoulin Island and made a home in Little Current. He was a red seal master chef who took pride in his trade having worked in many restaurants in the Niagara area and most recently as the executive chef at the Manitoulin Inn and Conference Center in Little Current. He loved being a chef and appreciated the many people he worked with. Erik also enjoyed his affiliation with the Masons and Shriners, especially participating in the parades as "Kookie" the clown.
Erik had significant health issues especially in the last two years of his life. He always had a tenacious spirit and will to live as he faced each challenge. We were grateful to Lori Lampman for giving him one of her kidneys a number of years ago that gave him a new lease on life. As the love of his life, Andrea's care for Erik, especially in these very difficult recent years, allowed him to stay in their home for as long as possible.
Even as we are sad because of our loss, we take comfort that he isn't suffering and is at peace.
As per Erik's wishes, cremation has taken place. At a future date there will be a private service and internment of his ashes in the family plot at St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery in Port Dalhousie.
In lieu of flowers, Erik's family request that donations be made in his memory to the Kidney Foundation.

It was my honour to be able to donate and give Erik a new lease on life. I'm really glad he found happiness with Andrea and that now Erik is at peace and no longer suffering. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the families and his children. God Bless
