Eugenio "Gino" MAZZEI

1942 - 2022

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our patriarch Eugenio (Gino) Mazzei; while surrounded by his loving family on March 20, 2022 at the Wellend General Hospital at the age of 80. A tremendous loss for our family. Born March 7, 1942 in the town of Pianopoli, Catanzaro. Cherished husband of Agata (Schimio) Mazzei of 55 years. Much loved Father of, Linda Dow, Rosalinda Cocucci (Eddie). Loving Grandfather to Daniela (Domenico) Bilotta, Erica (CJ) Rose. Cherished Great-Grandfather to Milana Mazzei Bilotta and Alonzo Domenico Bilotta. Survived by his loving brother Anthony (Nancy) Mazzei, Sister-in-law Mary-Lou Mazzei. Predeceased by his best friend and brother Micheal (Mary-Lou) Mazzei, sisters Maria Rachielli from Italy, Vincenzina Curico from France, Pina (Micheal) Melnyczuk. Son of the late Angelo and Carmela Mazzei and Son-in-law of the late Giacomo and Rosalia Schimio. Gino will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Fondly remembered, by his unconditional love for everyone - especially his family who were the center of his world. As we all know, he would light up a room as his gentle disposition was admired by all. Gino, spent 46 years at Imperial Dry Cleaners until he retired at 65 years old. Gino was an avid bowler and some of his favourite pass times included gardening and watching his favourite Juventus soccer team. Special thanks to the Hamilton General and Wellend General ICU Unit Doctors and medical teams for your care and compassion. For those who wish, Memorial Donations in Gino's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Family will welcome friends on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Pleasantview Funeral Home, 2250 Highway #20, Fonthill (905-892-1699). Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 5740 Buchanan Ave., Niagara Falls followed by Entombment at Pleasantview Cemetery Fonthill.
