Glenn HALL Obituary

Glenn A. Hall, passed away at the age of 97 on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Predeceased by the love of his life, Errol Grosch Hall, wife of 47 years. He was born on February 6, 1925, to Archie and Celia Hall in Flint Michigan. Predeceased by his wife, parents, siblings: Evelyn, Jean, Marge and Wilbur, grandson Ryan and great-grandson Caleb.

Survived by sons Ted and Rob Mackenzie, their partners Judy Anga and Sandi Mackenzie, grandchildren, Kelly, Alexandra (Nisschal), Radley, Tait and Michael, great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Blake, Khiana and Dhrishaan, goddaughter Stephanie Johnston and his nieces and nephews: Vicki Coleman, Kathy Burns, Michael Craigen, Sue Barnet, Linda Wilson, Scott Mercer and Lisa Luther.

Glenn attended University of Montana, Missoula after serving in the United States Navy as an aviation radar operator during WWII. He sailed on the USS North Carolina. After his discharge from the navy he travelled throughout the US. His experiences varied from ownership in a lodge in Alaska to meeting his future wife on the beaches of Clearwater, Florida. He was an avid wood craftsman yet also enjoyed the technological innovations of the past century. Always one to look at things logically, his passion for others was grounded in his belief of basic needs for all.

Member for over 57 years and past president (1973-74) of the St.Catharines Gyro Club. Glenn also thoroughly enjoyed his coffee hours and discussions with his FMP group.

At Glenn's request, cremation has already taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Glenridge Lawn Bowling Club in St. Catharines, Sunday, October 16th from 2:00-5:00 p.m.

Glenn's family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Jeremy Child, Home and Community Care Support Services, nurses Emma and Mellissa, caregiver Patti Smith, care support Carrie and Lisa, Essentials Cremation and Burial Services Inc., and his many friends for their comfort and care.

In lieu of flowers, a donation on behalf of Glenn to the Alzheimer's Society of Niagara or the May Court Club of St Catharines would be appreciated.

We knew Glenn as a good, kind person who enjoyed life and laughter, and a wonderful loving husband. He was also a great friend to the McConkey family. He will be remembered as among the very best of his generation.

Sandi, Rob and Ted: Thinking of you. Our family has many fond memories going back to Welland Avenue Church days. Glenn had a wonderfully long life and was lucky to have enjoyed good health till the end.

Ted and Rob, I am so sorry for your loss. Glenn was probably the kindest person I've ever known. Larry and I both share in your grief. I think Robbie said it best when my dad died--"we're family, after all."

We knew Glenn for many years and lived next door to him for 37 years. He was always a really nice, friendly, humble man who enjoyed joining us for dinner now and again. He and Errol welcomed in the start of this century at a dinner at our house with our family. We will remember him fondly. Richard & Joan Larocque
