Helen Sekel Obituary

With granddaughter Emily at her side, Helen passed away peacefully at Henley House on Sunday November 28th 2021. She emigrated from Hungary in the early 1930s with parents Steven and Suzan Turi and brother Julius (predeceased October 2021). As a young widow (predeceased by Arthur Sekel 1961) Helen raised 3 daughters, Judy Hummell (Doug) Sharon Pesant (Cal) and Nancy McLeod (Graden). She was assisted in this endeavour by our grandmothers TuriMomma and Gramma Sekel (Eva). Mom, we deeply respect your hard work, courage, style, and love. We will keep you always in our hearts. Also remembering Gramma with love are Cory Pesant (Rebecca and children Cayla and Caden) Craig Pesant (Lana and children Jaxson and Ella) Alex Hummell and Emily Hummell (Sean). We greatly appreciate the care given by Henley House staff over the past 7 years. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will follow at a later date. If so wished donations can be made in Helen's honour to the Heart and Stroke foundation of Canada
