Henry BOYER Obituary

It is with great sadness and love we announce that on Wednesday evening January 12, 2022, Henry "Hank" Boyer passed away peacefully surrounded by the people who love him. Hank was born on June 2, 1935 and grew up and lived most of his life in Port Colborne. Hank was predeceased by the love of his life, Joan Boyer (nee Simpson) in 2007, following 55 years of happy marriage. He is also predeceased by his brothers Brian and Larry. Hank leaves behind his loving children Susan (Tom) and Jerry (UU) and grandchildren Christine Bruno, Kelsey Boyer and Colin Boyer as well as his brother Fred (Ann) and sister-in-law Carol Boyer.

He was a dedicated husband, father, and friend. After various jobs in sales and labour, Hank accepted a position with The Toronto Star as a district sales manager where he thrived, provided for his family and remained until retirement. During this time he worked with thousands of people, mostly young people, across the Niagara peninsula. Hank and Joan traveled the world and loved the adventure of travel. Hank also spent many years deeply involved with Port Colborne minor hockey, along with his dear friend Jack Stover, bringing the love of hockey to hundreds of young players. He proudly wore his Team Port Colborne jacket right to his last days.

Hank remained joyful, playful, and happy to the very end - including a little dash of mischief. To celebrate Hank's life, please take the time to be joyful, playful, and grateful. Consider an act of kindness. And if that works for you, do it often and think of Hank. Many years ago when I grew up in Port Colborne, Hank and I grew up together ... high school, hockey teams, lived close in Port Colborne, and much more. I left those areas and now live retired after many years in California. So remember Hanks as a close friend growing up together. Only a coincident gave me the info on his passing but brought back years of memories of a wonderful person and friend ..... John Crawley, Monterey, California .... Monterey, California, 2022.
