Ian BAKER Obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ian Baker at the St. Catharines General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Beloved husband of 52 years to Joanna. Loving father of Andrew (Joanne), Shannon Bessey and Matthew (Danielle), cherished grandfather of Hannah, Paige, Lauryn, Lucy and Nolan. Best Buddy to his four-legged friend, Rusty. Ian enjoyed playing Euchre and taking photos of various ships travelling through the Welland Canal. He will be missed by his many Ham radio friends who knew him as operator (VE3 OZN). In honouring Ian's wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144.

My fondest memories of Ian are with Ian sitting in his chair on the porch of the Port Elgin Cottage. With his, coffee or rum. Always his dog close by. His children, grandchildren and special nieces and nephews alway found happiness and joy with Papa/ Uncle Ian. Every child he teased and they all teased back. And stealing his fries on the beach was a joke that started way back in the 70's and continued to the past summer. Ian, you brought such joy and happiness to so many. The sun in Port Elgin won't shine as bright this summer with you not there. Rest in peace.

I just want to offer sincere condolences to Ian´s family. We haven´t officially met, just a chat while dog walking, and a wave. I live on Biagi Court, and it seems as if I just saw him on his riding lawnmower, headphones on, or throwing a ball to Rusty. Looking out my kitchen window won´t be the same. So sorry for your loss.
