Jean LUCIW

After a life well lived, we are saddened to announce the passing of our Mother and Baba, Jean (Genia) Luciw, on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, in her 90th year. She is now reunited with her husband, Walter (2015). Loving mother to Christine (Ross) and Mark (Melanie). Cherished Baba to Nicholas (Meghan) and Sarah. Loved chocha to Debbie (Frank) and family. Jean, along with her late husband, were active members in the Ukrainian community. She was a longstanding member of both YHO (Ukrainian National Federation) and St. John the Theologian Ukrainian Catholic Church. A consummate hostess, Jean enjoyed cooking, baking, and welcoming friends and family to her home. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Panachyda will take place at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Theologian Ukrainian Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John the Theologian Ukrainian Catholic Church or The Canada-Ukraine Foundation (for humanitarian aid) would be appreciated by Jean's family.
