Jitske Horinga Obituary
Jitske Horinga passed away suddenly in her home one day after her 81st birthday. She is now in the arms of her Heavenly Father.
Jitske was predeceased by her loving husband Geert Horinga (2019), parents Marten and Antje Kingma, sister Bertha Vanderheide, brother Gerben Kingma and granddaughters Ashley and Lacey Mcauley. Loving mother of Albert Horinga, Barbara Gaboury (Richard), Anita Hessels (Henry), James Horinga (Tammy), Bernice Thewles (Brian Hoover), Marlene Johnson (Dave), Michael Horinga (Kayleigh Snyder) and will be sadly missed by sister Sjoukje Stol (late Piet), brother(s) Marten Kingma (Nellie), Bert (Diana), Andrew (Joanne), her seven grandchildren Ryan (Jaisey), Felicia (Erik), Robyn (Jake), Jacob, Robert, Lauren (Nicolas), Jason and five great-grandchildren, Alexia, Bayley, Damian, Benjamin and Tyler.
The Horinga family will receive family and friends at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 660 South Pelham Rd. Welland on Monday, March 14, 2022, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Christian Reformed Church with a private family burial taking place prior to the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Cairn Christian School. O Jitske ... so many memories ... where do we start? Our engagement gift, still on display, our first sleepover a week after we were married, all our meals out, our regular visits, our almost weekly phone calls, sometimes 2 or maybe even a 3rd one.
