Joan Butilkin Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Northland Pointe on June 30, 2022 in her 75th year. Born in Long Island New York on August 3,1947 she came to Canada as a young child where she resided ever since. Joan leaves behind her husband Peter, her two daughters Debra (Romeo), Jodi (Luke) and 2 grandchildren Brandon Scott and Mya Ryan. Joan is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Daisy Wintermeier, her grandson Jesse Favaro and sister-in-law Violet Byrne.
Joan worked for many years at the O.E.C.T.A. office in Welland where she truly loved her job and all those she worked with. She had an avid love for animals as her home was never without a dog.
We would like to thank the many friends, family and neighbors who are like family throughout the past year as Joan continued to battle the horrible disease of dementia. We especially thank those that cared for her at Northland Pointe, especially in her final months and days. The care and compassion shown by the staff will never be forgotten by our family.
The family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. in the Armstrong Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Niagara SPCA.
