JOHN BOWES Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack, one day after his 59th birthday. He is survived by his beloved wife Cathy. Dear father to his sons, Jacob, and Bryan. He will be missed by and leaves behind his father Jack. Dear brother to Tracy (George) McCabe and Peggy. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will have lasting memories of his smile, laugh and love of sports. Jack is predeceased by his first love, his mother Carol (1995). We are certain she is waiting for him with a big smile and warm hug, something he loved and missed from her for years. Jack loved his sports, especially baseball. He was very involved with baseball and the GNBA in Niagara Falls. He imparted that love of sports onto both his sons and proceeded to coach them both in hockey, baseball, and golf. He was a huge fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and loved watching his Toronto Maple Leafs. Jack was a low handicap golfer who spent many a day on the golf course with his family and friends. Lastly, his sons will be forever grateful for teaching them guitar and will carry those lessons and memories forward for the rest of their lives. He will be sadly missed by all of those who had the privilege of knowing him. A special thank you goes out to his boyhood friend who looked out for him and helped him throughout his lifetime. Thank you, Dan Favero, for being his friend, or more appropriately, his brother. We all know how much you meant to him. He loved you very much. In keeping with Jack's wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. All arrangements have been entrusted with the Bocchinfuso Funeral Home (905-227-0161). The family asks that any memorial donations be made to the nonprofit kid's organization, the Greater Niagara Baseball Association. The GNBA are to plant a tree in Jack's name at Oakes Park. No tax receipt can be issued as this is not a charity. On-line condolences may be left at www.bocchinfusofh.com

A great coach, will missing seeing you from right field the games you came to see the Expos every now and then.

Rest easy Jack.
