John MacDERMID Obituary

Passed away, peacefully, surrounded by family at Westhills Care Centre. John was predeceased by his wife, Caroline (nee Sitar) in 2016, his infant brother, Jimmy, sister, Kyle, and his parents Donald and Isabel (nee Davidson). He was a step-father of Sean (Janet) and Morwen (Malcolm) Galway. Grandfather of Ryan (Ben), Sarah and Shannon Galway. John will be missed by his buddies with whom he spent time golfing and bowling along with Ernie & Al as they would often go to hockey games together. John was employed at General Motors from 1976 until his retirement in 2006. John will be missed by all that knew him. In honouring John's wishes a private family service will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street and Scott Street), 289-362-1144. Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca

I´m so sorry to hear of John´s passing. I met John over 50 years ago when he played hockey, baseball and this was followed by many years of working together at GM. John was always such good friend and I´m so happy we had some visits the past few months. RIP my friend.

I am so sorry to hear about Johns passing . He was a lovely man . I visited him at Westhills , found his courage , his humour and understanding of life never failed him . What a wonderful gentle man . He spent many visits at my parents home having dinner , talking over coffee . . Loved his many stories .
