John David "JD" Meeboer

1995 - 2021

Known to family and friends as JD, passed away at home in Vineland, Ontario at the age of 25 years. JD was born in St. Catharines, Ontario to John and Ronnet Meeboer on October 10, 1995. He attended Vineland Public and Beamsville Secondary Schools where he graduated in 2013. Teachers and former classmates remember JD as the kid who would randomly burst into song just to make people smile. He often stuck up for the one who was being bullied and held true to 'doing what was right'. JD is survived by his parents and his only sister, Julia Meeboer. He will be fondly remembered by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends across Canada and the U.S. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association. The family wishes to thank everyone who has prayed for and was a friend to JD. He struggled with his mental health resulting in anxiety and depression. Yet we have learned that his impact on others caused them to describe him with words such as thoughtful, funny, kind, genuine and brother. He put others ahead of himself and we are comforted by the memories he gave us and through the lives he touched. JD, may you find the peace and harmony we so often heard and saw in you.
A private graveside service will be held at Snure Cemetery in Jordan, Ontario where he will be laid to rest. A memorial will be considered at a later date when family and friends can gather to remember and share memories together.
