Joyce England Obituary

It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of Joyce Mary England on June 23rd 2022, one month before her 90th birthday. Our wonderful mother is survived by her loving children Cynthia Robins, Susan Merzanis, Chris Merzanis (Angela) and Jane Merzanis (Scott). Also survived by her sister Shirley Payne, grandchildren Kate (Tony) and Kristyn Robins (Jeremiah), Emily and Jonah Zelinka (Ginny), Sarah Merzanis, Laryssa Breiter (Rhain) and Jordan Merzanis, great-grandchildren Mia, Cameron, Rhys, Brooke, Camille, Catherine, and Hunter, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Madeleine England, her sister Betty Gosden and her twin sister Joan Leighton, her son-in-law Al Robins, and her former husband Alex Merzanis. Joyce will be remembered for her love of learning, returning to Brock University when her children were grown to obtain her Bachelor's degree. She was employed for many years at Family and Children's Services and was always a progressive advocate for women and children, volunteering at Women's Place. Joyce loved nothing more than to enjoy a glass of wine and a home-cooked meal with family and friends. To remember her kind generous spirit, we ask that you have a toast and hug the ones you love, in her memory. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Growing up next door to Nana was a highlight of childhood. She was the sweetest, most caring grandmother and a wonderful cook. I will miss her very much.
