Lubomir KAMENDY Obituary

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Lubomir Kamendy on September 21, 2022 in this 66th year. Predeceased by his parents, Jan and Matilda, of Bratislava, Slovakia. He is survived by his brothers Marian (Bozena), Stefan (Jeanette), Jozef (Maria) and sister Anna (Jan) as well as many loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Lubomir was born September 26, 1956 in Bratislava, Slovakia. He came to Canada (1980) to start a new life. He worked at Brock University for 35 years enjoying retirement for the past 5 years. He loved to walk outdoors and could be seen walking through the city almost every day. His love to travel made him happy to visit Slovakia, Greece, Spain, Italy and many parts of Europe. He was an avid photographer. Lubomir was a very loving, loyal, trustworthy caring brother, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed and remembered by all he knew. Cremation has taken place, with no memorial service as per his wishes. Special thanks to Dr. Phillips and the Walker Cancer Clinic Staff, the Special Caregivers and Hospice Staff. Also thank you to our dear friends and family for their support during his illness. Memorial donations on behalf of Lubomir may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or Hospice Niagara. Lubo was a great person to work with, always cheerful and willing to help. He left a big gap, both in technicality and personality, when he retired. My condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

So sad to hear of the passing of our friend Lubo. So many of us from Brock will miss him dearly. We have lost a true gentleman. I honestly can say that having worked with Lubo for many years I never once ever heard him say anything bad about anyone - even those who worked hard to earn it. He was a positive presence in so many lives and he will live on a little bit in all of us who knew him and had the absolute pleasure of his company! My deepest condolences to all of his family. The good Kamendy family have lost a truly good man.
