Maria Teresia Rezner

Sadly, we announce the passing of Maria Rezner, surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 5, 2022, in her 86th year. Predeceased by her husband Joseph (2020). Lovingly remembered by her children Mary Ann Smith (Leo), Monica Walz (Gerhard), Irene Walz (Josef) and Joe Rezner. Special Oma to Larry, Stacey, Stephanie, Jamie, Alex, Michael and Samantha. Special Grosse Oma to Kaleb and Knox and living in Germany Steffen, Nadine and David, Fiona, and Simon. She is also survived by her loving sister Kathi Mozes (Janos) and her sisters-in-law Ursala Post and Maria Kenzler, all of Germany. Maria was born in Elek, Hungary and came to Canada with her husband Joseph in 1954 and in 1966 they settled in Wainfleet buying their farm and raised their family. She was predeceased by her parents George and Katarina Post and her siblings. The Rezner family will receive friends at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence, 19 Young Street, Welland on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11 o'clock. Rite of Committal to follow at Maple Lawn Cemetery. Donations in memory of Maria may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
