Marie Michaud McDonald

1927 - 2022

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Marie McDonald. Born and raised in Bas Caraquet, NB. She married Albeni Michaud (predeceased Oct 16, 2000) and raised 5 children. She then married John A.S. McDonald (predeceased Feb 28, 2015). Marie leaves behind Paul (Catherine), Yvon (Wendy), Denis, Pauline (Keith) Yvonne (Kelly) and 12 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren as well as extended family and her dog Teddy whom she loved to no end. Marie was a pioneer of women in business running a successful 5-star restaurant in Port Dalhousie, ON called "Marie's Seafood Dining Room" for 46 years. She was also known as the "puppet lady" after knitting thousands of woolen finger puppets for children in hospital care. Her heart was large and her smile infectious. Rest in Peace Maman, we will carry you in our hearts forever!
NO VISITATION due to Covid restrictions, however, a mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Lindsay, ON at 1:00 pm on Friday Feb 11, 2022 following by interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. If you like, donations would be appreciated to the Sick Children's Hospital in her memory.
