Mark Carlson Obituary

It is with saddness that we announce his sudden and unexpected death at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Mark Carlson of Fenelon Falls and formerly of St. Catherines was in his 71 year. Loving partner of Carol Wray. Predeceased by his parents John Carlson (1988) and Jean Gare (1997) of St. Catherines. The Carlson family ran Canada Block and Tackle and Carlson's Electric & Acetylene Welding at 21 Riordan Street at the corner of Division Street for generations. Mark and his brother continued the business after his grandfather and father passed until 1995. Mark is the dear brother of Bryan Carlson of Beamsville and brother of the late Donna Carlson (1996). He is also pre-deceased by his sister-in-law, Lorraine Carlson (2011). Mark is the uncle of Stephanie Carlson (Bruce Lee) of St. Catherines, Jason Carlson (Marianne) and Andrea (Tom Paschert) all of Port Colborne and uncle to seven great nieces and nephews. Mark was a kind, generous and loyal. He was a good friend to many. He thrived in the outdoors and loved to be active with fishing and hunting but could also sit and read for hours on end. His knoweldge was vast because he was such a veracious reader. Mark was a woodworker by trade but spent his free time indulging in his passion of photography and the restoration of antique wooden boats. Mark sadly leaves behind is boston terrier named Mickey. He loved walking the dog and stopping to talk with his neighbours. The family of Mark Carlson have said goodbye privately. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
