Mary WRIGHT-WALTERS Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Elizabeth Wright-Walters (née Robertson) announces her passing on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 in her 102nd year. Predeceased by her first husband Leonard Wright (1986), her second husband Howard "Bucky" Walters (2019), her daughter Carol (Mike) Filipchuk (2003), her brothers Andy, Robert and Jim, her sisters Betty and Jean, and her in-laws Eileen Carr and Norman Wright. Mary is survived by her daughters Sheila (Gordon) Campbell, Susan (John) Czaban and Janet (Fred) Reid, her grandchildren Lisa (Don) Kitchingman, Barry (Gail) Filipchuk, Kathy Filipchuk, Jeff (Tracey) Campbell, Jody (Jeff) Koets, David Reid, and April (Rob) Taylor, her great-grandchildren Matthew (Kathlynn) and Michael, Emily and Jacob, Liam and Noah, Reid, and Kayleigh and Ella Rose, her great-great-grandchildren Jackson and Aaliyah, her sister Peggy Shaver, brother Richard Robertson (Elenor), and her sister-in-law's Sheila Hawkisstone and Barbara Robertson. Mary is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Mary was a proud mother of her 4 daughters, a fact that she loved to share with everyone, and she had great pride for the rest of her family as well. In later years, Mary enjoyed cards with her friends, going to plays and taking trips to Las Vegas. When she married Bucky, the two of them loved to go to the casino and to Betty's to eat. Like a true Scotswoman, Mary made fabulous shortbread.

The family would like to thank the staff at Henley House for all of their care and support for Mary. Many thanks also to family friend Helen Sexton for her dedicated visits with Mary and Bucky.

A Graveside Service and Celebration of Life for Mary will be held at a later date.

In Mary's memory, donations to the Niagara Children's Centre would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements entrusted to the Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel (905-684-6346).

So sorry to read of Mary's passing. She was a delightful neighbour, of whom we were very fond. We were saddened when she and Bucky moved from Simpson Rd, but were happy to be able to visit them at their apartment, a few times. We miss them both, dearly.

Fond memories of Mary from years long ago at the Grantham Apartments growing up as a young girl playing with her daughters. Later on enjoyed our short chats when Mary would make a visit to the bank. You were one of a kind Mary and will truly be missed! xo

Sincere sympathy to my cousins and their families in the passing of their mother, and grandmother. Aunt Mary was always a friendly and loving person and she indeed was very proud of her family members.
