Nicola Miele Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicola at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Antonietta (nee Felice) for over 52 years. Cherished father to Anna (Jerry Snopkowski), Vince (Michelle), and Maria. Loving Nonno to Cassandra (Lucas Edgar), Adrian (Claudia), Tristan, Alexa, Sasha, Tia and Sydney. Great-Nonno to Clara and Enzo. Left to mourn are Nicola's siblings; Mariantonia (the late Francesco Miele), Libera (the late Giovanni Miele), Tommaso (the late Pasqualina), Maria (Francesco Felice), and Giovannina (the late Angelo Salvatore).
Nicola was a hardworking farmer, passionate about the land and all its beauty. He was happiest when he was working outside, spending time with his grandchildren, and entertaining visitors. A gifted storyteller, Nicola would often tell stories during family gatherings, celebrations, and regular Sunday dinners. We will miss his generous, caring, and passionate spirit.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff at the T. Roy Adams Centre (Linhaven), especially the recreation department for spending hours of quality time with Nicola, making him feel like he was at home. Thank you also to the staff at the St. Catharines Hospital for their care and compassion.
Arrangements entrusted to George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 6-9 p.m. at St. Alfred's Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines, with Vigil Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 11 a.m. with entombment to follow. Those wishing to attend the visitation or Mass must email your appointment time request to [email protected] or call 905-937-4444 as capacity is limited. For those wishing to attend virtually, the Mass will be livestreamed via St. Alfred's YouTube page. In lieu of flowers, donations to the T. Roy Adams Centre would be appreciated by the family.
