Ofelia CAVASIN Obituary

Passed away peacefully on August 3, 2022 at the Port Colborne Hospital at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Pietro. Loving mother of Andrew (Dorothy Guay), Roger (Carla), Rick and Betty (Brian McIlmoyle). Cherished grandmother of Michael (Marina), Arthur (Mandy), Christopher (Katie), Alexander (Alina) and Matthew (Marie), and beloved great grandmother of 7. She will be forever missed by her many nieces and nephews both here and in Italy. Ofelia drew her formidable strength from her family and expressed it mostly in the kitchen, a self taught culinary master, food was the core of all family gatherings, many of the ingredients sourced from her lovingly tended garden. Nothing brought Ofelia more joy than seeing her grandchildren, and in time great grandchildren enjoying the fruits of her labour. The extra helping being the best loved signal of appreciation. Ofelia's family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Monday, August 8, 2022 from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in the Armstrong Chapel at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery.
If so desired, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Mark Preece Family House, Hospice Niagara or Canadian Cancer Society.
