Fonthill, ON
Surrounded by his family at home, Pete Gillian entered into the presence of the Lord, free from the ravages of ALS. Pete is forever healed, and his life of faith and trust in God has now allowed him to enter his heavenly home. Pete was 65 years old. Pete was loved by his family, and will be missed by his treasured soul mate and wife of 42 years, Gloria. Pete was a loving father to Kristi and Ben Kaesekamp, Carolyn and Ryan Prasad, Jeff and Laura Gillian. He left a great example of trust in God, acceptance of life, and his personal walk of faith for them to follow. His grandchildren Joshua, Abigail, Hannah, Rileigh, Jacob, Michael, and Anja brought great joy to him. They will miss his "punny papa" jokes. He is survived by many family members who loved him greatly. The family is thankful for the extended family and close friends that supported Pete during his 14 month struggle with ALS. Also thankful for caring staff from McMaster ALS clinic, ALS Canada, Care Partners, and St. Elizabeth Health Care, LIHN and Respiratory service. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 6-9 p.m, at Niagara Heights Church, 136 Confederation Ave, Thorold. A private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to ALS Canada is appreciated, or a charity of your choice. Please share your condolences, photos and memories at www.pleasantviewcemetery.ca

Gloria and family, I´m so sorry to hear of Pete´s passing. My memory of him is leading the worship team on Sunday mornings when I attended the church and his love of music. May you find comfort in knowing others are thinking and praying for you at this most difficult time.Hugs.

He was one of the most devoted Christians I know and he lived his faith!!!! He was so gentle and kind, which is what my son, Jim, said about him when I told him of Pete's passing and we will also cherish his leading of worship time at the Church and what a blessing he was to all of us!!!! My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time!!! Take care and God Bless!!!!
